Auto-masking is turned on or off by a control in the row underneath the tracker mini-view: an empty screen means disabled, a screen with a stylized person means enabled in monochrome mode, and a screen with stylized person and RGB background means enabled in RGB mode.
As with planar tracking itself, the auto-masking can be done in monochrome mode (ie based on the channel selected for tracking) or in RGB mode, where red, green, and blue are processed regardless of the tracking channel. And again, RGB processing works better for content with low luminance contrast, at the expense of somewhat longer processing time.
Despite the longer processing time, the RGB option is probably a good choice if you enable auto-masking.
