Scene Exporters Supporting 360VR
The following primary exporters support exporting 360VR scenes such that they appear as 360VR scenes in the target application. See the normal exporter descriptions for additional information.
- After Effects, preferably CC 2018 or later.
- Blender
- Fusion
- Lightwave
- Modo
For an application to be added to this list, it needs to support a native equirectangular 360VR camera, and it needs to be possible to configure that camera from within the file type exported to the application. To illustrate this difficulty, note that Filmbox (FBX) files cannot currently specify an 360VR (equirectangular) camera, even though it may be possible to add 360VR cameras in the downstream application by various macros or plugins.
To be able to see a 360VR background correctly in the perspective view of a 3D app, you may need to use the Create Spherical Screen script (see below).
A regular camera will be exported when a 360VR camera is unavailable. In applications that have an equirectangular camera, it should be possible to either change the type of the exported camera from regular to 360VR, or to parent a 360VR camera to the existing camera with no offset or twists.
