After Calibration
After calibration, SynthEyes will have adjusted the image preprocessor to produce the type of image you want, as long as Apply fix to scene is turned on.
It will also produce a Note that contains information about the solve, including a summary of the modes, the prediction error, the computed parameters, and a description of the output format.
Notice that there are three different field of view numbers produced. The first, 164.862 here, is the nominal field of view of the undistorted lens. The second, "true", FOV, 141.628, is the field of view including the effect of distortion: the field of view between the pointing direction of the left edge and right edges of the image.
When you are comparing different fisheye types or levels of distortion correction, you'll see different values in the nominal field of view, but the true field of view will typically be very similar. If you are doing a full random dot calibration with 360° travel, the values will be very close together, even less than 0.01 degree.
The final field of view is the Output fov, 118.944 here. This is the field of view for the image being produced; it is what will be used in matchmoving, for example. This is a Workflow #1 result, so the Output fov is well less than the true fov. If it was a Workflow #2 result, the Output fov would be significantly larger than the true fov. You can refer back to the sample images produced by the different workflows to understand what that is.
